Kitchen Sink Music

We are thrilled to have the Kitchen Sink Music Program in residency here at Friends of the Children New York. The program is designed to expose our children to new experiences in the arts, to teach them musicianship, and to encourage them by using music and the arts to build confidence and social skills. We are convinced that exposure to music and the arts helps our children achieve all our goals for them, including success in school.

The program, started by current Friend Wynn Walent, continues to afford new and valuable experiences to our children, including the chance to meet and learn from dedicated, world class, young musicians and experience music related field trips, attend group performances, participate in studio recording, and a first hand knowledge of the power of music.

Through Wynn´s efforts, we have collaborated with Concert Artists Guild and Big Apple Jazz to expose our kids to the best in music, from Carnegie Hall to Harlem and around the world.
